Position Overview:
The Cloud Operations and Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our cloud-based systems while providing expert-level support to internal teams. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Assist in the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure resources.
- Monitor and optimize resource utilization to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement security best practices and compliance measures in the cloud environment.
- Support and Incident Resolution:
- Provide technical support to internal teams, addressing cloud-related issues and inquiries promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and troubleshoot complex technical problems.
- Escalate and manage incidents according to established procedures and protocols.
- Cost Optimization:
- Assist in monitoring cloud spending and contribute to cost optimization initiatives.
- Work with the Cloud Operations Manager to identify opportunities for cost savings and resource optimization.
- Documentation and Best Practices:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cloud configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cloud operations and support.
- Automation and Scripting:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine cloud tasks.
- Use scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate repetitive processes.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, developers, and IT operations, to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
- Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (relevant certifications a plus).
- Proven experience in cloud operations and support, preferably with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and services.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of security and compliance best practices in cloud environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
