We're looking for a science-oriented software developer with a strong background in quantum information and quantum algorithms to help build our quantum compiler.
We hire across levels, from researchers emerging from strong M.Sc./Ph.D. programs to seasoned engineers.
The team is working on
- The Qmod language and its compiler toolchain: semantics, type system, intermediate representation, and the next-generation compilation pipeline - this is a production compiler
- The synthesis engine that lowers high-level programs into circuits optimized for width (qubits/ancillas), depth, and gate count under user constraints
- Implement and improve quantum synthesis algorithms from the literature: arithmetic, multi-controlled-gate synthesis, Hamiltonian simulation (Trotterization, qDRIFT), state preparation, uncomputation, and fault-tolerant compilation (Clifford+T, routing)
- Resource estimation for quantum programs
- Debugging tools for quantum programs, for example, a visual model of the high-level program that lets users inspect and troubleshoot what they wrote
- Compiler-pass performance and correctness, benchmarked against real algorithms (e.g., Shor's algorithm, quantum phase estimation, QSVT)
- Design and develop production-grade capabilities for the quantum compiler
- Own your code - it is production code that customers use to meet their goals
- Contribute to the architecture of the quantum compiler and the definition of our high-level quantum programming language
- Collaborate closely with product and algorithm teams to deliver production-ready quantum capabilities
- M.Sc. or higher in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, with a thesis or equivalent research in quantum information - the heart of the role
- Solid understanding of quantum computing principles and hands-on experience developing quantum algorithms
- Able to write real, maintainable code and eager to build production software
- Passion for building tools that empower developers and researchers
- Experience with quantum software frameworks (e.g. our platform, Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Strong Python
- Broader computer-science algorithms background
- Software engineering experience building production-grade systems
- Prior experience in compiler or synthesis-engine development
