HawkEye 360 is currently seeking a Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer to join the Space Team. The mission of the Space Systems Engineering group is to build, test, launch, operate and maintain a constellation of small commercial satellites. The Space Systems group is also responsible for operating a segment of ground stations to provide communications with these satellites. The satellite clusters and ground segments provide the platform for RF data collection that is essential to HawkEye’s core business.

HawkEye 360 is looking for a candidate with good technical leadership with attention to detail, who is creative and has a passion for working with and developing new innovative technology.

As the Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

• Support mechanical hardware design and design changes as required including part and assembly drawings
• Assist with integration and testing of flight hardware at all stages of spacecraft development from unit testing up through the fully assembled spacecraft at the launch facility
• Perform basic engineering calculations to understand static and dynamic structural analysis
• Support structural qualification testing on spacecraft systems and components
• Develop and document required design and test processes
• Be able to follow procedures and run/debug software tests

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical/Aerospace preferred) or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of relevant professional engineering experience
• Experience with a mechanical analysis tool such as NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, HYPERMESH, etc…
• Experience with Computer Aided Design (Siemens NX preferred)
• Understanding of electronics and electronics lab environments including ESD mitigation and cleanroom protocols
• A good attitude and team-oriented spirit

• Experience designing and building mechanical hardware for flight or ground use
• Experience working with electrical harnesses and connectors
• Understanding of standard aerospace test practices (Vibe/TVAC)
• Experience using Python to support test automation
• A curious outlook – willingness to learn new things and solutions to fit the problem
• Experience in a fast-paced, company where priorities can change rapidly
• Dedication to getting the job done

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $115,000 annually

HawkEye 360 offers a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations. We are also open to considering candidates with experience and qualifications at a different level than required in a job posting, which may affect the compensation package offered.
