Job Overview
We are seeking a Principal Power Electronics Engineer to join our team. This role demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience in complex electrical systems design, development, and integration. The successful candidate will be instrumental in advancing our ASV solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. This position is open for a domain expert capable of guiding cross-functional teams, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence in electrical engineering. The Principal Power Electronics Engineer will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our cutting-edge maritime technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the conceptualization and design of cutting-edge electrical systems and solutions tailored to the specific needs of our autonomous surface vessel startup.
  • Guide, mentor and empower a team of electrical engineers, nurturing a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continual enhancement.
  • Collaborate closely with diverse teams to translate strategic goals into tangible electrical engineering objectives and outcomes.
  • Conduct in-depth exploration and evaluation of emerging electrical technologies and apply them across the Saronic product line.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive documentation, encompassing design blueprints, testing protocols, and technical insights.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, industry protocols, and safety measures at every stage of product development.
  • Address intricate electrical engineering hurdles through innovative problem-solving strategies within our fast-paced development environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Considerable experience in defense, maritime, automotive, or similarly harsh and critical environments, championing successful electrical engineering projects from inception to market introduction.
  • Significant aptitude and experience with power electronics, including distribution, motors/propulsion, or hybrid drive systems
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, methodologies, and technologies, with a proven history of delivering groundbreaking innovations.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities, exhibiting adaptability and ingenuity in navigating diverse challenges.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with best practices in fast-paced environments, including agility, adaptability, and thriving in dynamic settings.
  • Enthusiasm for technology and a commitment to staying abreast of the latest industry advancements.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
